Why a 10-year T-38 deal in 2026
The T-38 Talon is the Air Force's primary supersonic trainer and is being phased out by the Boeing T-7A Red Hawk — but Red Hawk delivery delays mean the T-38C fleet has to fly into the 2030s. The 10-year avionics-support deal is the Air Force betting on a long T-38 tail. Single-bid receipt indicates no realistic alternative integrator at the depot level.
