Kratos Technology & Training Solutions was awarded a $446.8 million U.S. Space Force follow-on Ground Management Integration (GMI) Other Transaction Agreement on March 17, 2026 for the Resilient Missile Warning & Tracking (MWT) Medium Earth Orbit constellation. Kratos heads a team that includes Northrop Grumman, Auria, ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, and Rise8. The GMI agreement provides a unified command-and-control framework for rapid integration of space vehicles and delivery of real-time IR sensing data to national decision-makers.
The constellation Kratos supports
- Epoch 1: 12 satellites from Boeing-subsidiary Millennium Space Systems; first launches scheduled 2027, rest by 2028
- Epoch 2: 10 additional satellites from BAE Space & Mission Systems; designs preliminarily approved; initial launches on track for 2029
Why MEO instead of GEO?
MEO sensors offer faster revisit and better hypersonic-tracking geometry than legacy SBIRS-style GEO assets. Pairing a MEO infrared layer with the Space Development Agency's Tranche 3 LEO tracking layer creates the multi-orbit fabric the Pentagon wants for Golden Dome.
