LMI was awarded a $100 million Space Systems Command Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III IDIQ on April 6, 2026, with performance through March 2031. Work site: Tysons, Virginia. No funds were obligated at award. Coverage from GovCon Wire.
What's funded
Per the announcement, LMI will perform product integration to modernize and unify support execution across product support, life-cycle logistics, digital transformation, and readiness sustainment functions. The Phase III is built on LMI's earlier Phase II RAPTR (Rapid Analysis Prototyping Toolkit for Resiliency) platform for space mission analysis.
Why SBIR Phase III matters
Phase III is the commercialization stage. Agencies can sole-source Phase III follow-ons without re-competing — which is why winning a Phase II that leads to a Phase III IDIQ is the holy grail for federal-focused R&D firms.
